Chlorine
Leak Detection with Ammonia
Household bleach is NaOCl
Liquid "Ammonia" is acutually Ammonium Hydroxide (NH4OH)
Mixture to the two could result in a toxic vapor.
However, the "vapors" are NH3 (Ammonia), reacting with pure Chlorine, to
form a white cloud composed largely of Ammonium Chloride (NH4Cl). The
concentrations of both raw materials is quite low, compared to the
amount
of Chlorine in household bleach.
26 degree Baume Aqua Ammonia is 29% Ammonia, or 58% Ammonium Hydroxide,
with a wt/gal of 7.48.
