E. Alexina (LaFave) Dionne

1914 - 2008

E. Alexina (LaFave) Dionne, 93, formerly of 106 Pierce St., in Leominster, died Monday, Jan. 14, in Daniels House Nursing Home, in Tewksbury.

She was born March 31, 1914, in Leominster, and was the daughter of Alexander and Josephine (Allen) LaFave.

Mrs. Dionne and her husband were the proprietors of Dionne Sheet Metal Co. After her husband’s death, she was the proprietor and continued the business building the new shop on Nashua Street in 1967.

She worked there for 31 years and continued the business for 13 years after his death, retiring in 1976. She was a member of St. Cecilia Parish in Leominster and a volunteer at the Red Cross and the Leominster Historical Society. She was the first Girl Scout leader in Leominster.

She is survived by her daughter and her son-in-law, Barbara Mackey and John R. Mackey of Tewksbury; two grandchildren, Heather Mackey-Godin and Colleen Mackey, and a great-grandchild Taylor Rose Godin. She was predeceased by her husband, William A. Dionne, who died in 1963.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, Jan. 19, from the Wright-Roy Funeral Home, 109 West St., in Leominster, with a funeral Mass at 11 a.m., in St. Cecilia Church, 170 Mechanic St., Leominster. Burial will be in St. Cecilia Cemetery, in Leominster. Calling hours will be Saturday, Jan. 19, from 8:30-10:30 a.m., in the funeral home.
