Sharon Bouchard of Leominster, Ellie Dunn of Townsend and Linda Tackett of Fitchburg, along with five other mothers of servicemen began the Massachusetts Chapter of Blue Star Mothers in 2006. Blue Star Mothers is a volunteer support organization for families of service members and members themselves.

Sharon has two Blue Stars on her flag. Here with son Barry at the ceremony where he was awarded a Purple Heart for being wounded while a Marine Sergeant serving in Iraq, her younger son Scott also serves as a Marine Lance Corporal.
